Nordic Tenors is renowned for unique vocal artistry, warmth, humour, and a blend of traditional and innovative repertoire. Jan-Tore Saltnes, Nils Georg Nilsen and Espen Solsbak offer a harmonious mix of art and entertainment.

Outstanding tenors

Nordic Tenors combine exquisite artistic quality with humour, dance and musical surprises, and have been a prominent part of the Scandinavian music scene since 2005. With the premiere of their first show "Nordic Tenors & Sjur Hjeltnes/Bella Notte", they marked the beginning of a remarkable career.

In 2006, Nordic Tenors were awarded the Komiprisen "Newcomer of the Year", an award that recognised the group's influence in using humour to bring classical music to a broad audience. Nordic Tenors continued to impress, with significant appearances as royal toastmasters for HM King Harald in 2007, and at the opening of the new opera house in Bjørvika in 2008. Their ability to captivate audiences continued in 2009 with the premiere of "Nytt Show" in Bergen and the release of the group's first CD, "Live at Logen". Nordic Tenors' creativity was again recognised in 2010 with a Komiprisen nomination for "Number of the Year".

Nordic Tenors have completed several successful projects, including "An Evening with Nordic Tenors" and "Ten Years with Nordic Tenors" in 2013, as well as collaborations with the Swedish ensemble Neumann Strings for their Christmas tour. Their musical journey is marked by regular new album releases and national tours.

Nordic Tenors' Christmas concerts have grown into one of Norway's most popular Christmas tours — a tradition that both celebrates the season and showcases the group's musical range.

The members' unique backgrounds

Jan-Tore Saltnes

Jan-Tore, proud of his roots in Holmestrand, is a musically versatile artist. Trained at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, he has a varied background ranging from boy bands to heavy metal, and has contributed to over 30 releases.

Nils Georg Nilsen

Raised at Jar in Bærum, Nils balances his passions between football and music. With a Master's degree from the Manhattan School of Music in New York, he has been a sought-after soloist both nationally and internationally since 2013.

Espen Solsbak

Espen has more voice than he has hair, and he's the only member of Nordic Tenors with a tattoo. He's from Stavanger but has settled in Tomter. He has studied opera in Stavanger, Rome and Oslo, and also has wide experience in musicals and popular music genres.

Christmas with Nordic Tenors
